Jeremie Frimpong might only be 24, but he’s already made a huge mark in the world of football. The Amsterdam-born star just signed a massive £20 million endorsement deal with New Balance – one of the biggest boot deals ever. That puts him in the same league as legends like Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.
New Balance clearly sees Frimpong as more than just a rising star. Known for his electric style of play as a right-back, he was a key part of Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible 2023-24 season, racking up 14 goals and 12 assists in 47 games and helping them clinch their first-ever Bundesliga title.

Off the pitch, the man is just as impressive. He runs a non-profit called The Pathways Project, which helps young footballers – especially those in academies – figure out their futures, whether that’s in football or something else entirely. The Boston sportswear company is backing the initiative too, making this more than just a typical brand partnership.
Frimpong’s journey started in Manchester City’s youth academy before he moved to Celtic, where he picked up several domestic trophies. His switch to Leverkusen in 2021 was a game-changer, and just three days ago, he made the move to Liverpool.

As one of New Balance’s newest faces, the wing-back will front both performance and lifestyle campaigns, joining a line-up that includes big names like Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling. It’s a move that cements his status not just as one of the game’s top young talents, but also as someone shaping the future of football – on and off the field.
