In recent years, Nike has gone the extra mile for the brand’s Air Max Day celebration. Usually held every 26th of March, Nike seems to be going all out with more AM1 drops in 2023. Rumoured to drop sometime during the Holiday 2023 season is the Nike Air Max 1 “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin”. That’s right! If you remember the shoe, it features that iconic Safari print instantly recognised by the AM1 die hards!
We have no images nor official release details yet, but we’re hoping for some confirmation soon! Let’s check out the images of the Air Max 1 “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” from 2008.
The shoe was part of the brand’s “Greatest Hits” pack from 2008 alongside the AM90 and Air Max Stab. This colourway boasts the popular Safari colour scheme first launched in 2001 in collaboration with atmos.
The shoe features an Orange leather body with Black pony hair overlays across the midfoot. Black suede Swooshes blend well with the dark area.
Black and White Safari graphics comprise the mudguard and collar.
The heel features the “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” labels in Orange.
A White PU foam midsole houses the visible Nike Air unit in the heel.
The outsole features a translucent area on the forefoot with some lion-like graphics along with other motifs. A Black rubber outsole covers the toe area and the rest of the midfoot to the heel.
There are no official announcements regarding this release, but reliable sneaker sources say that the shoe will return during Holiday 2023. It’s no surprise if Nike decides to bring back this classic colourway from the archives!
We can also expect the brand to tweak the design just like the Air Max 1 Shima Shima 2023.
