On Foot with the New Balance 992 Made in USA Olivine

For us, the 992 remains the undisputed choice for the lifestyle and craftsmanship in the NB line-up. After a successful period of collaborations with JJJJound and Joe Freshgoods, the 992 has had a bit of time to rest.

Its return this year is led by this “Olivine” colourway, landing in line with the SS26 Teddy Santis collection. If you’re not familiar with this pair, it sits as a larger and more substantial model compared to the 991 and 990 series.

At a glance, it is green. Look closer and it is layered. Sage-toned mesh runs through the toe box and collar, giving the upper breathability and structure. Thick pigskin suede overlays wrap the mudguard, heel, and eyestays in a muted Olivine shade. It feels substantial in hand.

Cream and Incense tones soften the midfoot panels and heel tab. Caramel accents outline the “N” logo and appear on the tongue branding. This adds contrast without forcing it.

The pre-aged off-white midsole adds quiet depth. Underneath, a gum outsole anchors everything. The overall palette feels earthy and is easy to rotate year-round.

Underfoot, the 992 stays true to its original DNA. ABZORB cushioning runs through the midsole. It is supported by SBS pods that as standard provide firm yet forgiving impact protection.

Releasing on February 26th, this release has to be one of the best from the collection delivering Made in USA quality to a colourway born for Spring.
