Built by adidas Originals’ Los Angeles team, this debut colourway borrows the same bright yellow hue that Haile Gebrselassie wore during his 2008 world-record marathon run in Berlin—but this version doesn’t aim for the finish line. It rewires that racing DNA for everyday rotation.

Chunkier than its marathon-ready predecessor, the Goukana features a thick, sculpted sole with visible cues from the Adios lineage. Adidas swaps in Lightstrike foam for a lightweight, responsive base and adds a heel foam pod to dial up underfoot comfort. A broad platform gives the shoe its bold stance, with a wide silhouette that blends retro performance cues with a more casual frame.

Up top, breathable mesh forms the base layer, while premium suede overlays break up the panel work with contrast and texture. Reflective hits pop across the upper, adding visual depth and just enough flash in low light. The signature Adizero sling detail wraps around the heel for a nod to its roots.
