Adidas reintroduces the Campus to the new generation with an updated model! Don’t worry though as the original Campus will continue to release, this new Campus 00s model is just a new addition. The adidas Campus 00s “Purple” combines Black and Purple to reimagine the iconic 80s trainer. Rock this pair along with the OG Campus for variety!
The arrival of the new Campus 00s silhouette does not mean that the Campus will be phased out. Both pairs will coexist in the adidas Originals catalogue. While the two models share a similar DNA, we can easily recognise the differences between them. Things get exciting for adidas as the brand enters a new journey.
Adidas originally released the Campus in 1980, but the shoe actually had a different name before that. First launched in the early 70s, the shoe was called “Tournament”. This basketball shoe became a popular choice among hoopers with its suede upper. Adidas reintroduced the shoe as the Campus to cater to the streetwear culture.
The Campus 00s came out in 2022 and offers a more padded construction. Thick flat laces also complement the padded tongue. Adidas released this shoe with skate culture as the primary source of inspiration. The wavy herringbone traction pattern provides that solid grip.
This adidas Campus 00s “Purple” features a Purple suede base with Black accents on the logos and heel panel.
Campus labels on the lateral sides appear in their usual form.
The new colourway releases this April 2023 on the adidas UK website. More adidas Campus 00s will release, as well as newer renditions of the original Campus.
