The growing streetwear brand Youth of Paris gives us not one but two adidas Campus 80s with street-art motifs. This time, we go to the opposite side in this all-black makeover. The adidas Campus 80s x Youth of Paris “Black” boasts distressed aesthetics with loose threads and extra stitching. Patent leather on the back gives the shoe a nice touch!
Adidas seems to give more attention to the iconic Campus as the brand moves on from some partnerships. The Parisian streetwear brand Youth of Paris started off as a Tumblr page before eventually releasing fashion pieces of its own. Founder Alex Lopez came a long way since launching the first collection in 2016. Now, the brand is in the big league thanks to this collab with the Three Stripes.
The adidas Campus is just one of the many lifestyle icons from the adidas Originals back catalogue. First released in the early 70s as the Tournament, adidas renamed this old-school basketball shoe to Campus in 1980. The shoe became a popular lifestyle shoe due to its lightweight suede makeover and minimalist aesthetics.
Adidas unveiled the Campus 00s, an updated version of the Campus 80s model. Both pairs share the same DNA, but the 00s silhouette rocks thicker layers as a nod to early 2000s skate shoes.
The adidas Campus 80s x Youth of Paris “Black” features a Black canvas upper with subtle Green and Purple stitching on certain sections. Hanging threads on the sides hide the three stripes.
Patent leather polishes the heel panel for a shiny look.
Graffiti-style Youth of Paris branding can be seen on the tongue.
An ID tag and a special box finish off this collab.
