This special edition Campus collab truly dares to be bold with street-art themes all over the shoe. The Tumblr-page-turned-streetwear brand Youth of Paris showcased a whole new kind of distressed aesthetics to the sneaker culture. This adidas Campus 80s x Youth of Paris “Crystal White” goes all out with pre-distressed uppers and graffiti art branding.
Youth of Paris looks to gain more attention with the help of adidas thru this latest collab. Two adidas Campus 80s colourways arrive to flaunt the loud design inspired by graffiti. Halloween is months away but this looks like the perfect shoe to go along with your costume!
Adidas takes streetwear to school with the introduction of the adidas Campus. This trainer originally came out in the early 70s as the adidas Tournament. Once a basketball shoe, adidas renamed it to Campus in 1980 to keep up with the streetwear trends. Fortunately for the brand, the Campus became a success and was a mainstay release in the adidas Originals selections.
The Campus was a popular choice because it features suede, a lighter fabric than leather. Adidas recently released the Campus 00s, a new Campus silhouette paying homage to the skate culture in the early 2000s. That’s why the brand labelled the OG Campus as the Campus 80s, to prevent confusion.
This adidas Campus 80s x Youth of Paris “Crystal White” features deconstructed and distressed canvas uppers with multiple hanging threads. The subtle three stripes on the sides appear in a yellowish tone.
Green stitching overlays adorn the lateral rear and medial forefoot regions. Graffiti Youth of Paris labels appear on the tongue and Purple semi-translucent outsole.
The shoe will have a special packaging box featuring hooded figures – a nod to graffiti artists. Extra set of laces in Black and Purple will also be included.
