You can’t go wrong with this colourway of the adidas Gazelle. First introduced in 1968 as a Three Stripes trainer, the coveted Gazelle silhouette returned in the 90s with a slightly wider structure to cater to the masses. A couple of decades later, the adidas Gazelle is back for the next generation.
As a low-cut sneaker, the Gazelle features a smooth suede upper with a leather lining and heel tab. In typical adidas fashion, a golden typeface lettering that spells out “Gazelle” appears alongside the three stripes on the side of the shoe. Both the heel tab and the tongue showcase the adidas trefoil logo as an additional detail.
The original sole was originally pointed and more narrow. The 1991 incarnation fixes these problems, bringing with it a wider sole. The rubber sole utilizes a honeycomb-like traction pattern that ensures a solid grip on most surfaces. Inside the shoe is an ortholite sock liner that provides step-in comfort.
This edition of the adidas Gazelle highlights a Collegiate Navy suede upper with hints of white on the heel, three stripes, and tongue. The thick rubber sole also arrives in white to keep a consistent look for the modern-day fashionista.
Branded under the adidas Originals footwear line, the Gazelle has remained one of the most affordable sneakers from adidas. It also continues to release in a wide variety of colourways, allowing you to either represent your team or simply rock your favourite colour. Truly an essential part of the rotation.
