The new era of the NMD line is finally here with even more general release colourways! First introduced in 2021 in extremely limited numbers, the NMD S1 now has more colour schemes rolling out. The adidas NMD S1 “Black Altered Blue” rocks a clean and subtle makeover that still stands out. This is a huge step up in terms of the direction of the NMD series. Maybe this will bring back the popularity of the Boost-equipped lifestyle shoe!
The Brand with the Three Stripes finally decided to give the new NMD more attention by releasing more colourways. With the Yeezy line now bidding farewell, we’re about to witness the resurgence of the NMD in the brand’s lifestyle catalogue!
The new NMD S1 may look different, but adidas actually kept the popular features on the shoe. We have the Primeknit upper making up the structure of the shoe. Although this NMD S1 boasts a more reinforced construction thanks to the sturdy yarn on the midfoot where the three stripes appear.
The biggest revamp on the shoe (literally and figuratively) is definitely the midsole. Boost foam still runs full-length of the sole, but this time comes encased in a TPU sole. “Lego” pieces still appear on the lateral side for stability. The Boost foam feels comfortable and bouncy despite being closed off by the TPU.
Multidirectional adidas Trefoil logos serve as the main traction pattern. The lugs are thick and feature small cut-out sections to allow the Boost midsole to provide that insane bounce.
This adidas NMD S1 “Black Altered Blue” comes in an all-black makeover with Altered Blue hints on the lateral plastic inserts.
We can expect more colourways to surface soon as the brand pushes for the new adidas Originals star.
