The NMD_R1 is back and is better than ever! Arguably the most popular Boost silhouette along with the likes of the Ultraboost and Yeezy 350 is the NMD; this time, the shoe incorporates recycled content in the form of a new knit upper made together with Parley Ocean Plastic. The adidas NMD_R1 Primeblue “White Black” emerges once more; this is the same Black plus White makeover as the previous renditions – except with an updated upper fabric.
It’s been years but the adidas NMD continues to take on new shapes and various forms. This one sticks to the OG adidas NMD_R1 model, but updating the Primeknit with Primeblue as adidas reduces waste consumption.
The adidas NMD originally came out in late 2015 with a wider release in the following year. After the popularity of full-length Boost midsoles found on the Ultraboost and Yeezy 350, the NMD looked to be a strong contender. Intended for lifestyle, the adidas NMD_R1 took inspiration from three vintage running shoes from adidas.
The Primeblue edition utilises a Primeblue knit upper, which is a recycled yarn made in collaboration with Parley Ocean Plastic. Textile overlays make up the three stripes, as well as other details such as the eyestay.
Rubber foam inserts on the midsole stabilises the extremely bouncy cushioning provided by the full-length Boost foam.
This adidas NMD_R1 Primeblue “Black White” goes for a Black Primeblue upper, rubber foam inserts, and outsole. White covers the three stripes as well as other brand labels including the Boost foam midsole. The clean and classic combo will be a versatile option for a lot of outfits.
This is now available on the adidas UK website along with the rest of the popular NMD colourways.
