The re-release of the adidas NMD_R1 is just as sweet as when it first arrived in 2015. It connected the trifecta of Boost sneakers together with the Ultraboost and Yeezy lines. A timely reminder of when the Three Stripes dominated the sneaker market during Boost cushioning’s peak popularity. A classic colourway returns in Black and Gum.
Returning to the market once more in classic and new flavours, the adidas NMD_R1 is now composed of 75% recycled materials thanks to the brand’s partnership with Parley For the Oceans. Whats even better is that you won’t even notice the difference between Primeblue and the typical Primeknit fabric.
Taking inspiration from classic adidas sneakers such as the Micro Pacer, Rising Star, and Boston Super remember to take note that they’re daily shoes and are not meant for performance sports.
The 2021 re-issue of the NMD_R1 silhouette stayed true to OG form. Only modifying the upper material by using Primeblue instead of the usual Primeknit fabric. The TPU foam inserts on the full-length Boost midsole and cored-out rubber outsole have returned just like in 2015.
Multiple adidas labels including the Three Stripes and trefoil emblem are placed on the sides, tongue, heel tab, outsole, and foam insert on the forefoot.
This colourway of the NMD_R1 Primeblue arrives in Black with a gum sole. A clean and stylish finish thats definitely a head turner. The upper and the foam inserts arrive in Black, while the typical white Boost midsole is sandwiched between the upper and gum sole for a style that won’t go wrong with any outfit.
Launched in July of 2021, there are sure to be plenty of colourways from adidas as they continue to revive the NMD’s glory.
