“Looks just like the White and Green Stan Smiths”! That’s exactly what we thought when we saw this adidas Supercourt “Cloud White / Collegiate Green”; borrowing the iconic makeover of the classic adidas Stan Smith – a tennis shoe that inspired the modern retro trainer.
taking inspiration from the respected tennis shoe archives of the three stripes, the adidas Supercourt arrives with a straightforward and streamlined body. Paying homage to the adidas Stan Smith, the most popular adidas tennis trainer of all time, the Supercourt stands out.
Rocking a low-top build just like the Stan Smith, the adidas Supercourt features a smooth leather upper. Perforations on the sides mimic the three stripes pattern to keep the aesthetic as simple as possible. A classic adidas trefoil logo adorns the heel, while adidas labels in German text complete the tongue.
The rubber cupsole incorporates a multidirectional wavy outsole for reliable grip all-year long. A round cut-out on the middle of the ball of the foot adds to the traction.
Launched in 2019, the adidas Supercourt may be born with tennis heritage in mind, but it’s a lifestyle shoe under adidas Originals. It worked well because it resembles other retro adidas sneakers like the Stan Smith, Superstar, Continental 80, and more.
This colourway of the adidas Supercourt borrows a similar colour blocking from the first Stan Smith. White leather makes up the body of the shoe, while Suede overlays in Collegiate Green cover the heel panel and tongue. Ivory suede overlays on the forefoot add a premium feel to this rendition.
