The Y-3 x adidas UltraBoost 5 “Black” keeps things sharp and understated. It takes the familiar UltraBoost DNA and refines it through a fashion-focused lens. The result feels more considered. More versatile. Still rooted in performance, but built for everyday wear.

The upper uses adidas PRIMEKNIT, wrapping the foot in a flexible, sock-like fit. It’s lightweight, breathable, and easy to wear for long stretches. The all-black finish gives it that go-with-anything appeal, but there’s more going on beneath the surface. Subtle knit variations add texture, so it doesn’t feel flat or one-dimensional.

Support comes through in key areas. A reworked TPU heel cage locks things in at the back, finished with Yohji Yamamoto’s signature for a clean, recognisable touch. The lace cage has also been updated, giving a more secure feel without disrupting the streamlined shape.
