Another Grey colourway makes its way to a Yeezy once more! Kanye West and adidas look to finish the year strong with another earthly hue makeover. This adidas Yeezy 500 “Ash Grey” arrives in a familiar approach.
Contrary to the futuristic design and modern sneaker tech that most Yeezys flaunt, the adidas Yeezy 500 sticks to classics. A mix of old-school and modern sneaker constructions made this shoe subject to adidas’ sports performance heritage. It also stayed away from the uber-comfortable full-length Boost foam that we’ve seen since the first adidas Yeezy model came out in 2015. And that’s exactly why it became another hit to the growing roster of adidas Yeezys.
This “dad-shoe” inspired low-top shoe features a breathable mesh base underlay, leather panels, and suede overlays. The leather and suede materials provide the structure of the Yeezy 500 and also keep it durable.
The most recognisable feature is the sole because it brought back the performance-centric Feet You Wear technology from 1996. The sole borrowed the same Feet You Wear sole unit from the basketball shoe adidas KB8 3. Except the Yeezy 500 features a slightly thinner midfoot shank for lifestyle purposes.
As a “Boost-less” Yeezy, the Yeezy 500 utilise the classic adiPRENE+ cushioning technology. Which was a mainstay in adidas performance footwear silhouettes before Boost and Bounce arrived.
Finishing another productive year for the Yeezy label is this adidas Yeezy 500 “Ash Grey”. Grey accents scatter throughout the upper, with a slightly darker tone on the sole. Reflective lines appear on the suede and leather outlines for an added finish.
Slated for an early December 2021 release, check out the adidas Confirmed app and other select retailers if you’re planning to cop.
