Admit it, we’ve all been longing for a combination of white, black, and grey hues on an Air Jordan 4. This Air Jordan 4 Retro “Military Black” fulfills all that with an upcoming release in 2022.
If you feel like you’ve seen this colour scheme before, it’s because this colour blocking originated from an OG rendition. The Air Jordan 4 Retro “Military Black” is a modified take on the OG “Military Blue” colourway from 1989. Hints of Neutral Grey on the nubuck mudguard, lining, and outsole brings a nostalgic yet modern approach to the shoe.
Black pigments replace the Military Blue shades on the OG, covering the TPU lace wings, midsole, and heel panel.
Originally released in 1989, the Air Jordan 4 gave people something new. It was a far cry from the minimalist Air Jordan 3. The Air Jordan 4 featured a high-top build with mesh netting on the sides and TPU support wings for a customisable fit. A TPU heel panel adds more touch of modernity as the sneaker culture entered a new era of sneaker technology.
Visible Air made a return on the 4s, providing a much-needed cushioning for athletic players like Michael Jordan.
When it comes to traction, the Air Jordan 4 utilised the ever-so reliable herringbone traction pattern. This is surprisingly a first for an Air Jordan signature model as the brand incorporated concentric designs. Either way, the traction was phenomenal.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro “Military Black” features an all-white body with a grey nubuck mudguard. Think the Military Blue colour blocking, but this time done in black.
Expect an official release in May 2022 on the Nike website.
