An Air Jordan 5 inspired by NBA superstar Chris Paul’s personal exclusive colourway gets an official release date. Chris Paul is a longtime Jordan Brand athlete, and he gets exclusive colourways dating back to his New Orleans Hornets era. While not officially attributed to Chris Paul, it’s nice to see the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Aqua” get a general release.

OG colourways of the Air Jordan 5 may be absent from the release calendar, but new colourways arise. This Hornets-inspired colourway is a nod to the personal exclusive colourway which we never expected to release. Flavours like this one are perfect for sports fans representing teams rocking similar uniform colours.

Just like its predecessors, the Air Jordan 5 stood the test of time and remained a popular Air Jordan retro model. Introduced in 1990, the Air Jordan 5 is Tinker Hatfield’s third Air Jordan and took inspiration from WW2 fighter jets.

Most colourways of the AJ5 feature nubuck, with plastic netting on the sides for ventilation. The thick reflective tongue and the shark teeth midsole design are the main highlights of the shoe.

Nike Air technology once again serves as the main cushioning system. A visible Air bubble on the heel continues the standard setup that first began with the Air Jordan 3.

The Air Jordan 5 Retro “Aqua” features a Black nubuck base, translucent plastic netting, and a silver tongue. Vibrant Aquatone Blue pigments adorn the Jumpman logos, interior lining, plastic lace lock, and rubber outsole. Taxi Yellow comprises the shark teeth design accompanied by Blue speckles.
