The Nike Air Max 2021 continues to roll out this year. This time it’s appearing in a modern Air Max 2021 “Mystic Red and Cosmic Clay” makeover.
When the Nike Air Max technology arrived in 1987, people thought that it was the pinnacle of sneaker tech. But Nike wasn’t even finished, as a matter of fact, the brand has only just begun developing Air Max technology.
The Nike Air Max 2021 highlights sustainable materials that contain at least 20% recycled content by weight. Most recent Nike models continue to promote the brand’s “Move to Zero” with these materials. The Air Max 2021’s upper comprises rip-stop engineered mesh, woven textile, and no-sew layers. Circular “skins” on the front panel add to the shoe’s overall durability. The tongue appears in a perforated mesh construction to achieve a durable and breathable feel. Reinforced eyestays feature external lace loops to give you a customized fit.
Swoosh and Nike Air Max labels appear on the sides while Pull tabs on the tongue and heel finish off the upper.
The Air Max cushioning system for the Air Max 2021 opted for the heel Air Max and forefoot foam setup. But this Air Max unit is unlike any we’ve seen before. A soft foam midsole provides that step-in comfort for a stable ride. The cored-out heel section features a collapsible cage where the dual-pressure Air Max unit resides. The Air Max unit is shaped like a honeycomb so each pillar can distribute the energy return and impact protection in a much more effective manner.
The rubber outsole features circular traction patterns inspired by flathead bolts.
Released early October 2021, the Nike Air Max 2021 “Mystic Red / Cosmic Clay” features a Grey/Black upper with hints of Mystic Red on the midsole and a yellow Air Max unit. It’s now available on the Nike website and select retailers worldwide.
