Ever since its release in 1990, it was clear that the Nike Air Max 90 would go down as one of the most iconic pair of shoes in history. It helped pave the way for various sneaker lifestyle and culture choices.
Nike is a brand with deep roots and inspiring history, so they decided to combine two prominent London sub-cultures into one. Nike Creps and Pirate Radio came together to create the Nike Air Max 90 “Pirate Radio” Metallic Gold. It was released as part of the “Air Max 90 Pirate Radio” collection which arrived on the 6th of February, 2021. The drop landed on Nike SNKRS GB.
A go-to shoe for many people in London, this Nike Air Max 90 is dressed in a clean all-white leather upper with a small metallic gold jewel Swoosh providing that luxurious elegance. A metallic gold lace dubrae reads ”Nike Airmax” completes the overall clean finish of this pair.
Nike added a white radio frequency wave design on the heel alongside a small Swoosh and “Air” trademark on the upper corners. The bottom sports an icy outsole that displays a skull with lightning bolts, inside multiple concentric circles.
This colourway is completely different to the other Air Max 90 “Pirate Radio” release, which sports synthetic and mesh grid overlays with blue, red, and grey colour details.
