Spring may be months away, but that doesn’t stop Nike from unveiling the new “Sprung” collection coming in 2022! This Women’s Nike Air Max 97 “Air Sprung” shows off various flora and fauna to match theme. Oh, and did we forget these classic trainers are part of the Move to Zero campaign featuring recycled and more sustainable materials? Quite exciting!

While we’re all busy preparing for the upcoming year-end drops, Nike is already unveiling next year’s heat pairs. The “Air Sprung” is a new collection with an expected 2022 launch. So far the Nike Air Max 97 and Air Force 1 Low have already surfaced.

An immortalised trainer by designer Christian Tresser, the Nike Air Max 97 is a running shoe with a distinct build. Made up of leather wavy panels atop a mesh base, the shoe took inspiration from the natural ripples of water. The sharp shape of the shoe was said to be inspired by Japanese bullet trains, but it was never confirmed.

Aside from the nature-inspired construction, the Air Max 97 also features a hidden lacing setup. The eyestays hide under the wavy upper for a symmetrical finish.

The Air Max 97 has a full-length Air Max unit. It’s iconic to the point that the succeeding model used the same cushioning system.

A waffle traction pattern on the outsole completes the timeless Air Max running icon.

This WMNS Nike Air Max 97 “Air Sprung” showcases Nike’s Next Nature content. Next Nature is part of a wider campaign called Move to Zero as Nike hopes to reduce plastic consumption. What appears to be a suede upper in Sail White make up most of the body, while hints of Pink and Purple adorn the lines and the laces.

“Air Sprung” details can be seen throughout the shoe; There’s a caterpillar wrapped around the embroidered Swoosh; the tongue features another caterpillar and a butterfly on the right and left pairs, respectively; a happy mushroom on the sockliner and outsole complete the theme. “air sprung” labels appear on heel pull tab and tongue.

A pink embroidered mini Swoosh on the forefoot and purple Air Max pillars bring a livelier vibe.

Expect the “Air Sprung” 97 to launch before Spring 2022.
