2022 marks the 35th anniversary of the game-changing Nike Air Max technology. It one-upped the previous Air technology by exposing the bag filled with pressurised air within the midsole; allowing people to witness the primary source of cushioning – and it’s also nice to see a “window “on a shoe.
The new Nike Air Max Motif pays tribute to the shoe that started it all, the Air Max 1. Highly recognisable design cues taken from the AM1 appear in this new silhouette. Refined and catered to the modern era of sneaker culture. This specific colourway is so awesome that it arrived in full sizing for the whole family!
1987 was a make-or-break year for Nike; new styles are pushing out popular Nikes, and worse, Michael Jordan is planning to leave the Swoosh. Air Max changed MJ’s mind, as well as the public perception of Nike’s technology. The Nike Air Max 1 is the one responsible for this (the Air Jordan 3 for MJ’s case) due to a visible “bubble” on the PU sole.
This toddler version of the Nike Air Max Motif features a mesh upper and a synthetic leather mudguard in yellow. The Nike Swoosh’s appearance looks highly similar to that of the Air Max 1, as well as the foam midsole. A heel Air Max unit provides the toddlers with enough cushioning that they can enjoy.
