When talking about the best-selling Nike sneakers around, best believe that the Nike Air Huarache never misses out! And this Nike Air Huarache “Light Photo Blue” just goes to prove why the silhouette remains in the spotlight; even 30 years later.
The Nike Air Huarache debuted in 1991. During the period where new sneaker technologies leveraged the way we wear our sneakers. The Huarache technology is just one of the never-before-seen features in sneakers. Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the Nike Huarache provides a neoprene ankle collar that hugs the foot. Its sock-like entry immensely helped wearers to find the perfect fit. Aside from the neoprene upper, Nike made the shoe lighter by getting rid of excess materials on the upper. And then replacing it with leather and rubber overlays.
With a mesh and leather construction upfront, the Nike Air Huarache proved to be durable and comfortable. An Air Huarache logo can be seen on the tongue, which replaces the Swoosh. The Nike Air Huarache is one of the most beloved “Swooshless” trainers around.
Because of the silhouette’s 30th anniversary in 2021, Nike brought out new colourways of the lifestyle classic. This “Smoke Grey / Light Photo Blue” Nike Air Huarache boasts a grey and a light blue shade on the upper. Neoprene and mesh make up the rear and the front, respectively. To keep things a little luxurious, suede overlays reinforce the body.
A new addition to the 30-year old sneaker is the mini Swoosh on the forefoot.
It’s finished off with a black foam midsole with a waffle traction outsole underneath.
Released last October 2021, the Nike Air Huarache “Smoke Grey / Light Photo Blue” is now available on the Nike website and select retailers worldwide.
