Unknown to some, the Air Jordan 1 Mid was actually Michael Jordan’s on-court choice during his first few seasons in the NBA.

The Air Jordan 1 Mid may have been the subject of plenty of sneaker memes, but it’s still a worthy sneaker that deserves appreciation. Featuring a leather upper the Jordan 1 Mid is literally just the High but with a lower ankle collar. The Wings logo on the lateral sides, perforations on the vamp, and Swooshes are all present in the shoe.

The thick PU sole houses an encapsulated Air unit in the heel to provide great cushioning. It’s finished off with a rubber outsole that boasts stars and concentric patterns.

This Air Jordan 1 Mid “Tan Gum” appears in a mix of white and hemp tints. The white leather base dominates most of the upper, while the tan overlays don multiple areas.

A beige Jumpman logo shows up on the tongue to accompany the Wings logo on the ankle collar. As usual the Jumpman logo replaces the typical Nike Air label on the tongue, as is custom with on non-OG colourways.

As if things are not fancy enough, a gum rubber outsole completes the bottoms. Gum rubber definitely makes the shoe look even more stylish and it also makes the traction more durable and grippy.

Released in the final week of September 2021, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid “Tan Gum” landed on the Nike website and other select retailers worldwide. This edition is a testament to why you shouldn’t underestimate the beauty of Air Jordan 1 Mids.
