The Jordan Brand being the heat with the Jordan 4 “Red Thunder”, now confirmed for a January drop. Featuring a colour blocking similar to the J4 Thunder, except this pair sports Black and Red pigments.
The Air Jordan 4 is one of the more popular early Air Jordan signature silhouettes . The previous model, the Air Jordan 3, instantly became popular as Michael Jordan shot to fame during the season they were released. Air Max also made its debut on the Air Jordan 3. On the fourth model, Tinker Hatfield returned and designed a basketball shoe that instantly became one of the greatest Jordan silhouettes of all time.
The Air Jordan 4 eventually grew to the masses thanks to the unique design headlined by the TPU support wings. The wings weren’t placed only for aesthetic; the personalised lacing setup provided a customisable fit so that athletes could add more customisation to their lacing preference. The mesh netting on the sides and the TPU heel panel are among the most notable features of the Air Jordan 4.
Most colourways of the Air Jordan 4 feature either leather or suede. The mesh netting on the sides and the forefoot panel provide breathability and makes the shoe slightly lighter.
Jumpman logos adorn the tongue, TPU heel panel, and outsole.
PU material returns in midsole form. The Air Jordan 4 has slightly raised sidewalls on the forefoot area for stability and extra support. A visible Air Max unit in the heel returns in a similar manner as the Jordan 3.
Finishing the shoe is the multi-directional herringbone traction pattern, with stars on the front outsole area.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro “Red Thunder” showcases a black suede body with hints of red on the TPU panels, mesh netting, and some sections on the PU midsole. The colour blocking is similar to the way the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” implemented the Black and Yellow combo.
First scheduled for an October 2021 release, the Air Jordan 4 “Red Thunder” is now rescheduled to arrive in January 2021.
