After seeing an on-court debut on the feet of Russell Westbrook himself, the Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 sneaker finally lands. This Air Jordan ‘Why Not?’ Zer0.5 “Honor The Gift” also dubbed “Inner City” links Westbrook’s Honor The Gift fashion label in this LA-inspired colourway. As unique as Russ can get when it comes to fashion.
To contain a player like Russell Westbrook, the team at Jordan Brand developed a basketball shoe designed for explosive players. At the same time, they wanted a shoe with a one-of-a-kind look as an ode to outfits and fashion statements that only Russ could pull off. This Why Not Zer0.5 colourway is the epitome of what Brodie stands for; staying true to his Los Angeles roots.
Rugged design, aggressive midsoles, and multiple straps. That’s usually what we see on most if not all the Jordan Why Not silhouettes. It’s supposed to feel protective, supportive, and stable enough to allow athletic hoopers feel confident and comfortable on-court.
This new model features a semi-translucent upper, external webbing, straps, forefoot overlays, and the signature aggressive foam midsole. These tech specs work hand-in-hand for a secure and cosy ride.
Inside the midsole is a large volume Zoom Air unit in the forefoot. Underneath is a data-mapped traction pattern that is decoupled in the midfoot by a plastic shank. The traction took inspiration from the durable and rugged trail running shoes.
This Jordan ‘Why Not?’ Zer0.5 “Honor The Gift / Inner City” pays tributes to Russell’s childhood life in LA. Appearing in a Sail White/Cream White and Beige makeover; Various Westbrook and Jumpman logos appear on the tongue with an exposed foam. “Honor The Gift” labels can be found on the external webbing on the heel.
The shoe will release together with a matching apparel collection and a special box. Expect an official launch in mid-February 2022.
