New Balance regularly builds on inspiration from their archive models. Usually combining distinct features from classics with modern materials to produce new trendy shoes. Landing in 2020, the New Balance 327 arrived and instantly became a classic for sneakerheads due to multiple collabs helping realise its potential. This limited-edition colourway of the New Balance 327 arrives in complementing hues and a partnership with American fashion designer Todd Snyder.
Created by revered New Balance designer Charlotte Lee, the New Balance 327 took design cues from the New Balance 320 and also the Super Comp. Two of New Balance’s running trainers from back in the ’70s.
The shoe features a mesh base upper and is reinforced with suede overlays on key areas. As with most colourways dual-tones are used, meeting halfway in a complementary style.
The large “N” logo on the lateral sides pays tribute to the Boston footwear brand’s heritage, specifically from the New Balance 320.
A thick dual-density foam midsole provides the step-in comfort that we all love. The shoe may sit high, but the large outriggers on the corners of the shoe have solved any instability issues.
A contoured outsole boasts circular nubs that run full-length. The outsole extends to the heel and acts as the heel counter.
Released in August 2021, this exclusive edition of the New Balance 327 appears in wheat inspired neutral tones. In a collaboration with Todd Snyder the colourway was dubbed “Farmer’s Market Wheat” due to the combination of Beige, Wheat, and Olive Green. The lateral side showcases the Beige mesh upper while the medial side sports a Wheat tint. Olive Green suede overlays cover the rest of the lateral side of the shoe.
The orange tongue features a wheat logo to complete the farming-inspired theme of this collab.
