The Air Max 90 will always be a classic Nike silhouette, and it will go down in history as one of the brand’s best releases. It has been more than three decades since it was introduced, but it remains just as popular as when it first came out. People always want the next big thing though, and the modern era calls for new unique designs. The Air Max 90 is so iconic that it would be difficult to tweak or retool. But that’s where the Nike Air Max Excee enters, a model that takes inspiration from the the Air Max 90.
Unlike the streamlined AM90, the Air Max Excee dons elongated lines and distorted proportions to create a new identity. Meaning this is not just a carbon copy of the former. The use of varied fabrics and upper materials makes this sneaker suitable for everyday activities. Mesh, leather, suede, and synthetic leather overlays complete the upper. Whilst classic Nike Air labels can be found on the tongue and heel.
Just like the Air Max 90, the Air Max Excee boasts a soft foam midsole upfront and an Air Max unit in the heel. The TPU support panel in the heel that surrounds the air unit has returned, boasting a new look. Unlike its OG inspiration, the air unit can be seen through three windows – two on the sides and another in the heel. This allows the cushioning to provide comfort and fantastic impact protection as you traverse through the urban landscape.
A tried and tested waffle traction pattern completes this Air Max 90 inspired sneaker.
Released in February 2021, this colourway appears in a Black and Grey colour scheme. You will find it brings an effortless style that goes along with every outfit. The Grey TPU panel on the midsole brings a lighter detailing to the shoe.
If you’re looking for the latest replacement for your old Air Max 90 sneakers, a pair of the Nike Air Max Excee has got you covered.
