With the Nike Air Force 1 Low GORE-TEX “Olive”, you’ll be ready to embark on a journey everywhere you go! The heavy-duty GORE-TEX upper repels water so you won’t have to worry about liquid stains anymore. And it’s even more durable than the usual uppers on most sneakers, quite interesting!
First invented by Bob Gore in 1969 for outdoor footwear, apparel, and equipment, GORE-TEX is a durable and reliable fabric. This material is a byproduct of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene that can handle extreme weather conditions. It’s breathable, lightweight, waterproof, and windproof – which is why GORE-TEX is one of the if not the most popular outdoor-centric fabrics you can find.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low rocked the GORE-TEX technology for a couple of times already. Nike continues to bring new twists to the classic hoops icon – this time to keep you safe and dry during winter.
Launched in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 launched as a high-top basketball shoe. The low-top and mid versions soon followed. It was the first basketball shoe to use the Swoosh brand’s Air cushioning technology. Nike Air provided comfort, impact protection, and responsiveness to allow athletes to perform their best.
After its popularity on the hardwood, the Nike Air Force 1 transitioned to Nike’s lifestyle catalogue; where it then topped the brand’s best-selling lists for many years to come.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low is considered to be the most popular of the three main versions. It ditched the straps, making the Swoosh and Nike Air details stand out even more.
Below, a PU midsole features an “AIR” label right on the rear area to label the encapsulated 3/4 length Nike Air unit within the sole.
Completing the exterior of the Nike Air Force 1 is a rubber outsole featuring multiple concentric patterns with stars on the forefoot and heel sections.
Nike taps GORE-TEX fabrics once again in this new Nike Air Force 1 Low GORE-TEX “Olive”. The mesh and leather fabrics are clad in GORE-TEX technology to ensure a waterproof ride.
Olive accents make up most of the upper, while Black hues complete the laces and the Swoosh. GORE-TEX labels on the tongue and forefoot portion further cement the popular technology.
Look out for this sneaker’s release in December 2021. It will be available on the Nike website and select retailers worldwide.
