Autumn continues to bring out the best sneaker styles as we showcase seasonal themes on our kicks. And there’s no better way than an iconic “Wheat” makeover on the classic AF1. The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Flax” makes a comeback once again after becoming a fan-favourite from previous releases. If you like Timberland vibes on a sneaker, this AF1 Low “Flax” is your best bet!
As Nike continues the celebration of the AF1’s 40th anniversary, we saw plenty of releases both new and returning colourways. Joining the lineup of returning Nike Air Force 1 renditions is this “Flax / Wheat” colourway, appearing in a monochromatic makeover.
While AF1s never really got out of the spotlight, the shoe gets even more attention in 2022 during its 40th-anniversary event. This milestone proves how the Nike Air Force 1 changed the landscape of the sneaker culture over the years.
Originally released in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 first saw action on the basketball court as a hoop shoe. Designed by Bruce Kilgore, the AF1 is the first Nike basketball trainer with Nike Air technology. The 3/4 length air unit gives a lot of cushioning underfoot.
The trainer’s rise to prominence is not smooth sailing as the AF1 ceased production in 1984. But by 1986, the Swoosh brand decided to bring back the model, and the rest is history.
This Nike Air Force 1 Low “Flax” features a monochromatic “Wheat” suede makeover all over the upper. Rope laces with metallic top lace loops resemble work boots and winter boots for the colder seasons.
Stay tuned for more AF1 releases such as this one in the last few months of 2022.
