Another clean and simple AF1 Low emerges. This time it makes use of a jersey mesh tongue, and an embroidered “Hoops” patch on the rear. The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Hoops / Canyon Purple” mixes vintage-inspired colours as an ode to where the story of the legendary AF1 all began: inside the basketball courts.
There’s no stopping Nike from bringing out new renditions of the best-selling model. Few updates make up this Air Force 1 Low dressed in White, Purple, and Black. An intriguing patch on the rear and a woven heel panel add more details to this hoops shoe from the early 80s.
The Nike Air Force 1 remains on top of Nike’s top-selling footwear list. Its simple yet stylish construction became a cultural symbol for a lot of places – specifically in New York; where the AF1s usually have the nickname “Uptowns”.
Introduced in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 is the first Air-equipped basketball shoe. With High, Mid, and Low versions, people had a lot of options to choose from; and rightfully so the AF1 became in-demand even beyond basketball. It entered the market as a now-lifestyle shoe, now part of the Nike Sportswear label.
No matter how many years have passed, we’re still getting new colourways, this one highlights Nike’s hoops heritage.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Hoops / Canyon Purple” arrives in a white crisp leather upper. Canyon Purple Swoosh and “AIR” logos accompany the purple “Hoops” patch on the rear. Unique changes include the jersey mesh tongue for greater breathability; and a reinforced heel panel.
A black rubber outsole completes the familiar yet brand-new design.
Stay tuned for an official release in February 2022 on the Nike website and select retailers worldwide.
