Looking like a pair straight out of 1982! While the Air Force 1 Low did not come out until a year later the Highs debuted, vintage hits are still all over. This Nike Air Force 1 Low LX “Pale Vanilla” goes for a clean and classic makeover; headlined by a mini jelly Swoosh, cracked leather panels, and aged soles. One of the cleanest vintage-inspired kicks we’ve seen in a while.
The 40th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1 brings out a lot of heat for 2022. We don’t see the LX version of the AF1 come out regularly, but this “Pale Vanilla” rendition keeps things fresh. The combination of White and yellowing accents makes up for one freshly maintained design approach.
The Nike Air Force 1 first came out in 1982. Designed by Bruce Kilgore, the AF1 is the brand’s premier basketball shoe in the early 80s. With new technology emerging rapidly, Nike ceased production of the shoe in 1984. But with enough persuasion from avid fans, the Air Force 1 lived on.
The shoe features a leather upper, nylon tongue, and a thick cupsole. Inside the cupsole is a 3/4 length Nike Air unit which provides cushioning and comfort.
Now celebrating 40 years of rich history, the Nike Air Force 1 is back like never before.
This Nike Air Force 1 Low LX “Pale Vanilla” features an all-white smooth leather base with a yellowing jelly Swoosh. More aged details appear on the lining, cracked leather suede panels on the heel, and the yellowing sole. Overall, this pair is a clean rendition of pre-yellowed sneakers. Unlike other vintage-inspired kicks, you won’t see distressed parts or scuff marks on the shoe.
