Nike blesses golfers some more with a brand-new Air Max 1 ’86 Golf rendition. It’s already a solid year for the Nike Air Max line and we’re only halfway through the year! This Nike Air Max 1 ’86 G “Watermelon” brings more freshness for the summer season. Special details on the summer with vibrant watermelon colours headline this awesome AM1 ’86 made for the fairways.
Everything’s going well for Nike right now, especially with the continuous roll-out of Air Max 1 ’86 versions. Following the Air Max 1 ’86 Golf in the OG “Sport Red” colourway, Nike delivers seasonal colours with different themes. This pair pays homage to watermelons with premium detailing on the Nike branding.
The Nike Air Max 1 is the pioneer Air Max silhouette introduced in 1987. Nike had an initial run for the Big Bubble rendition which launched in 1986 but was scrapped due to durability issues. Designer Tinker Hatfield eventually managed to fix this and reduced the Air unit size in the heel.
The Golf rendition keeps the OG construction of the Air Max 1 but modifies the outsole with smaller traction nubs. You still get the beloved comfort and cushioning of Nike Air Max on the heel, and the low-profile ride of the toned-down construction.
The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 G “Watermelon” features a reddish-pink mesh base with green suede overlays on the mudguard. Grey tones make up the midfoot overlays with speckled laces and foam midsole. Cursive Nike Golf details can be seen on the heel panel overlapping the green Nike Air labels. Another cursive Golf branding comprises the translucent outsole with visible pink and green interiors.
