Nike honours the first flowers of spring in this vibrant Air Max 1 ’86 Golf colourway. After the launch of the “Sport Red” colourway, Nike introduces new colourways for the ’86 Golf edition. The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 Golf “Periwinkle” showcases a neutral upper with vibrant soles. Periwinkle themes adorn the sockliner and spikeless outsole. You’ll surely stand out if you wear a pair of these!
As if the regular ’87 styles aren’t enough, Nike also brought the big bubble construction to the Air Max 1 Golf. How does this shoe compare to the normal Golf AM1s? Well, you get the OG shape and a bigger Nike Air unit, providing more comfort on the greens! It’s comfortable enough that you probably won’t need a golf cart.
Before the Nike Air Max 1 reached its final form with its official launch in 1987, there was the ’86 construction. Tinker Hatfield took the helm of the upcoming Air Max line and designed the shoe. Taking inspiration from Centre Pompidou, the Nike Air Max 1 was aesthetically-pleasing, and technologically innovative during its time.
Intended for performance running, the AM1 features mesh underlays with midfoot and mudguard overlays for additional durability. The star feature of the shoe is none other than the visible Air unit in the heel. PU foam houses an encapsulated Air bubble in the forefoot and a visible heel Nike Air unit.
Completing the design is the signature waffle sole by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman.
This Nike Air Max 1 ’86 Golf “Periwinkle” features a white leather base with light bone suede overlays. Purple periwinkle aesthetics appear on the tongue, sockliner, and outsole. The orange PU midsole adds more flair to the spring-inspired colourway.
Cop this pair when it arrives this May 2023 on Nike UK.
