Nike Air Max 1 SP x Concepts "Mellow" DN1803-300

You already know how insane Air Max Day 2022 will be when you’re getting crazy colourways like this one! The Nike Air Max 1 SP x Concepts “Mellow” shied away from the standard and set a whole new tier of its own! One of three versions in the Air Max 1 x Concepts colab, the “Mellow” iteration goes for a wide array of pigments for a special finish.

This extremely limited trainer set for an Air Max Month 2022 release takes inspiration from the Summer of Love phenomenon; as well as music festivals where hippie fashion and culture took over mainstream views. We know the colourway is called “Mellow”; but the excitement for Air Max Day 2022 just gets us filled with excitement!

Introduced in 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 was a game-changer in the sneaker culture. With running at the forefront of the design and features, Tinker Hatfield took on a challenge and ambitiously placed an exposed Air unit in the heel. He took the risk and forever changed Nike’s course.

The Air Max 1 features a mesh base upper with suede reinforcements all over. Notable designs such as the wavy mudguard, slim Swoosh, and visible heel Air Max paved the way for the future.

In 2022, Nike Air Max turns 35. And the Swoosh brand seeks to make this milestone as iconic as the first shoe equipped with Air Max. The Nike Air Max 1 SP x Concepts “Mellow” arrives with a denim base upper with sky blue hues on the forefoot and midfoot panels. An Oil Green canvas mudguard provides extra durability to this special release.

Subtle symbols on the forefoot show a backslash, a star, and a crescent.

Paisley prints don the heel panel wherein the “CONCEPTS” and “Nike Air” labels completely change the look of the trainer.

More unique details include: a cow print on the forefoot; multicoloured Swooshes with floral themes on the medial side; Corduroy fabric on the top lace loop; velvety suede tongue; and a special Nike x Concepts tongue tag.

The Sail White PU midsole highlights “mud” speckles on the lower portion as an homage to concerts in parks. A Chocolate Brown outsole finishes off the never-before-seen theme of the colab.

A Nike guitar pick hangtag complete the old-school hippie culture.

The special box also boasts loud and vibrant motifs to go along with the flamboyant trainer.
