Nike Air Max 1 "Light Madder Root" DV3196-800

Catching up on the Air Max Day 2022 held earlier this year is another fire Air Max 1 colourway! Pastel hues on this are a sure stunner that will catch a lot of attention. This Nike Air Max 1 “Light Madder Root” finally arrives after months of image previews. A lot of impressive Air Max 1s in just a short amount of time proves why the shoe remains popular after all these years.

Any new Air Max 1 colourway is a delight to the eyes. After returning in OG colourways in the past few years, Nike brings modern twists to the 1987 running shoe. This “Light Madder Root” joins the rest of the latest flavours to dress the Air Max 1 – and we’re loving every single part of it!

Legendary footwear designer Tinker Hatfield changed the sneaker game with his revolutionary Air Max 1 design. Introduced in 1987, this is the first where a Nike Air unit, usually encased inside a midsole, is visible. Nike cut down the weight of the shoe by keeping a cored-out section in the heel; at the same time showcasing an Air unit’s full potential as it comes directly in contact with the foot during impacts.

Mesh makes up the base of the shoe, with either a suede or leather mudguard varying per colourway. The thick PU sole features a visible Air Max unit in the heel for more cushioning.

This Nike Air Max 1 “Light Madder Root” features an Ivory mesh base with a Light Madder Root suede mudguard. Powder Blue overlays on the mudguard also utilise suede for that smooth and buttery softness.

A Green suede Swoosh complements the Air Max label on the tongue and the Air Max pillars on the midsole.

The Brown waffle outsole caps things off in this premium rendition.

Keep an eye out for its release in May 2022. Expect a lot of hype because these are very popular in the community when images first came out.
