The long-awaited Ugly Duckling pack finally gets a confirmed release date on the third week of December 2022! We covered the first look preview of the two colourways months before, glad we’re finally getting them soon! The Nike Air Max 1 Premium Ugly Duckling “Honeydew” boasts colours inspired by the Ugly Duckling Nike Dunk Low pack from 2001. Nike pulled it off nicely with these pairs!

We can say that every single Air Max 1 release in 2022 has been special. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Swoosh brand pulled off awesome release after awesome release across all sizes. Now looking to end the year with a bang, we get the Nike Air Max 1 Ugly Duckling pack. This is a nod to the 2001 Nike Dunk Low Ugly Duckling collection.

When you compare the Air Max 1 with the Air Max 90, the latter may be the more popular silhouette. But this wouldn’t have happened without the AM1 becoming the pioneer of all Air Max models.

Introduced in 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 debuted visible the Nike Air bubble as the main cushioning technology. The PU foam midsole encases the heel Air unit for more cushioning.

Since then, every succeeding Air Max model continued to develop until the Air bubble itself became larger and bouncier.

The Nike Air Max 1 Premium Ugly Duckling “Honeydew” features a Black smooth suede base with Kumquat fuzzy suede overlays. Midfoot reinforcements come in Grey, while the Swoosh, laces, and outsole feature Honeydew Green.

An embroidered duck logo appears on the heel as a nod to the Ugly Duckling moniker.
