Nike’s Air Max Month is in full swing with the arrival of more Air Max silhouettes. The Nike Air Max 2021 SE “XXXV Emerald” joins the growing roster of “XXXV” Air Max collections; as the brand celebrates Air Max’s 35th anniversary. We’re already excited about what’s more to come as the day of celebration approaches!
It’s been a while since we’ve last seen a new Air Max model with a name taken from its year of release. But it’s now back with the Nike Air Max 2021. This rendition pays homage to the birth of Air Max technology way back in 1987 – which changed the sneaker game forever.
Introduced in 2021, the Nike Air Max 2021 brought back the beloved foam + Air Max unit setup. However, the implementation is unlike what we’ve seen before; specifically the large Air unit. The engineered mesh, woven textile, and TPU overlays make up the upper and consist of at least 20% recycled materials. The nylon eyestays feature extra lace loops for a more customisable fit.
Foam makes up the forefoot midsole, while the rest of the rear comes cored-out and replaced with a collapsible cage. This cage houses the honeycomb Air Max unit which is divided into four major pillars. These pillars distribute impact protection and energy return for even more comfort.
The rubber outsole featuring circular traction patterns provides a consistent grip.
This Nike Air Max 2021 SE “XXXV Emerald” appears in a grey mesh base up-front; while the heel panel highlights pebble-like graphics for a premium detail. Emerald Jade hues cover the Swoosh outline, XXXV on the lateral sides, and the honeycomb Air unit.
XXXV, 3JM Clear Jade, and a Nike Sunburst logo adorn the sockliner as a tribute to Nike Air Max’s 35th anniversary; as well as Nike’s sustainable Move to Zero campaign.
Expect an official release in March 2022 just in time for the brand’s Air Max Month celebration.
