Nike Air Max 95 SE "Air Max Running Club"

A perfect homage to an elite running club built in the 70s. The Nike Air Max 95 SE “Air Max Running Club” joins the rest of the Nike Air Max icons here. Inspired by the real-life running team called Athletics West, the Air Max Running Club collection goes vintage mode.

Just like Blue Ribbon Sports (Nike’s first name), Athletics West was a brainchild of Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. Together with colleague Geoff Hollister, the group aimed to introduce more people to jogging and running as fitness routines. Eventually, the 70s saw the rise of running, as well as other track events. Athletics West wasn’t just any group of running enthusiasts – they were competitors who won various medals and awards, specifically in distance running.

That’s why Nike realised the need for a perfect tribute to the elite group of runners. And they executed it well in the new “Air Max Running Club” collection.

The Nike Air Max 95 may have one of the most unique design inspirations when it comes to sneakers. Why is that? It’s because the AM95 takes inspiration from the human anatomy. The Nike Air Max 95’s structure represents different parts of the human body. Various panels feature the spine, muscles, and ribs on the upper. Mesh, leather, and suede usually make up the shoe.

With a pair of Air Max units – one in the forefoot and another in the heel, the Air Max 95 proved to be comfortable.

The plush tongue with the vintage “airmax” also logo brings a classic finish.

This Nike Air Max 95 SE “Air Max Running Club” comes in various accents of blue. While the usual mesh makes up the base, fuzzy suede in Royal Blue and Midnight Navy stays true to the theme just like the rest of the creps in the collection. Nylon labels on the rear such as “BVRTN, OR” (Beaverton, Oregon) and “AMRC” add more vintage details.

A Sail White mesh tongue features an exposed foam on the lining for a unique touch.

The white midsole housing the Air Max units and a waffle outsole complete the shoe.

Expect these heat pair of trainers to release on the Nike website and other select retailers worldwide.
