A popular makeover recently made iconic by the Nike TN Air Max Plus finally lands on the Air Max 97. Seemingly boasting a metal mesh cover on the breathable mesh base, this new colourway arrives in a classic “Bred” approach. The Nike Air Max 97 Metal Mesh “Bred” goes dark with an all-black construction and unmistakable hints of Red on the brand labels. Surely going to be a hit based on the immense popularity that the Air Max Plus got when it first came out in the past year.
2022 marks the Nike Air Max 97’s 25th anniversary, and we’re already getting fire colourways such as this one. While we’re only halfway through the year, notable styles already made their mark among the sneaker community. And it’s certain that this “Black University Red” rendition will be on top of the must-cop list!
The Nike Air Max 97 first came out in 1997 as a Christian Tresser masterpiece. Inspired by ripples of water and Japanese bullet trains, the shoe donned wavy panels on the upper; plus a mini Swoosh on the midfoot.
The main highlight of the shoe is the full-length Air Max unit. It’s bouncy and provides that comfortable cushioning exactly what we would expect from an Air Max shoe.
This Nike Air Max 97 Metal Mesh “Bred” features an all-black upper comprised of mesh and leather. The mesh pattern is similar to the metal mesh rendition first found on the Nike Air Max Plus.
Pigments of red make up the brand labels on the sides, tongue, and outsole.
Expected to be another best-seller because of its Darth Vader like aesthetics; keep an eye out on this pair in June 2022. We’re already looking forward to the rest of 2022 because of all the upcoming Air Max 97s. Not to mention the return of the “Silver Bullet”!
