A pair worthy of a podium finish. 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic Air Max 97, but this celebration extends to the new year with another drop. The Nike Air Max 97 “Gold Bullet” follows up on the legendary Silver Bullet colourway which made its comeback in late 2022. We’re now just waiting for the Bronze Bullet rendition and we can complete the medal-inspired collection!
Vying for first place? While most may proclaim the Silver Bullet as the best Air Max 97 colourway, but the Gold Bullet is also great! Maybe it’s not as historic as the Silvers, a great colour scheme nonetheless. The fact that it’s also back is even greater news!
The Air Max 97 is one of the most remarkable sneakers in history. Designed by Christian Tresser, the AM97 took inspiration from ripples of water and Japanese bullet trains. The overall design showcases wavy panels resembling water ripples, while the streamlined look mimics the speedy bullet trains.
Everybody praises the unique look of this shoe, but the full-length Air Max unit also takes the spotlight. This is the first time that Nike used full-length visible Air, thus the popularity of the Air Max 97.
With 25 years of existence, we can expect even more classics to arrive in retailers.
The Nike Air Max 97 “Gold Bullet” features a Metallic Gold leather base with mesh underlays. Nike brandings like the Swoosh and Air Max labels come in Varsity Red.
The Black and White outsole and foam midsole sandwich the full-length visible Air Max bubble.
This pair releases in January 2023, just a few months after the long-awaited return of the Silver Bullet.
