Nike rolls out more wildlife themes to their latest Nike Air Max Golf selections. This Nike Air Max 97 G (Golf) NRG “Zebra” makes use of zebra stripes all over the faux fur upper! Such a fancy shoe to rock on and off the golf course.
We’ve seen a plethora of Nike Air Max silhouettes transition to the greens. The Nike Air Max 90 and Air Max 270 were some of the first sneakers to surface. A few tweaks to these golf-specific trainers brought optimal comfort on the grass. We can now add the Nike Air Max 97 to the growing roster of Air Max Golf shoes.
Designed by Christian Tresser, the Nike Air Max 97 boasted a unique low-top construction consisting of multiple wavy panels. These wavy lines took inspiration from the ripples of water, as opposed to the Japanese bullet train that people thought. Nevertheless, these two identical designs popularised the AM 97 even more.
Another first for the Air Max 97 is the hidden lacing system. The eyelets reside within the eyestay to emphasise the waves. Mini Swoosh logos on the sides arrive for a minimalist aesthetic.
The Golf edition of the 97 retains every single feature except for the sole. Thick lugs and spikes replaced the usual waffle traction pattern on the outsole. These patterns are suitable on soft surfaces so they can dig into the grass and provide consistent grip.
Luckily for golfers, the full-length Air Max unit remains exactly how we like it.
The Nike Air Max 97 G (Golf) NRG “Zebra” features a faux fur upper in Sail White and Black to resemble the zebra skin. It runs all the way to the tongue of the shoe for a fancy finish.
Expect a December 2021 release on Exclusive Access on the Nike SNKRS app.
