An OG colourway finally lands just in time for the celebration. Having its 25th year in the market this 2022 is the Nike Air Max 97, and we’re in for big surprises! The Nike Air Max 97 OG “Atlantic Blue” is one of the most popular OG colourways behind the “Silver Bullet”. And now, both of them are coming back for the revolutionary sneaker’s milestone. This is a pair we don’t want to miss out on!
Since the news broke out about the “Silver Bullet” Air Max 97’s return in 2022, we also saw rumours about the OG “Atlantic Blue”. We’re now halfway through the year and we finally get an official release of the shoe.
The Nike Air Max 97 first graced the market back in 1997. Designed by Christian Tresser, the low-top trainer took design inspiration from ripples of water and sleek Japanese bullet trains. The premier colourway “Silver Bullet” pays homage to Tresser’s love for mountain bikes.
Wavy panels on the upper reinforce the mesh base construction. Mini Swooshes on the midfoot follow up on the mini Swoosh placement popularised by the Nike Air Max 95.
The most popular feature of the Nike Air Max 97 is the full-length Air Max unit. Housed underneath a thick foam midsole, the full-length setup worked well in providing comfort and cushioning.
This Nike Air Max 97 OG “Atlantic Blue” features a Grey mesh base, Black mudguard, Blue leather wavy reinforcements, and Bright Volt accents on the Swoosh and Air Max unit. The colour combination highlights Nike’s sporty vibe during the 90s.
With the Atlantic Blue’s release in June, expect the Silver Bullets to arrive sometime in 2022.
