You just really never know which Nike trainer will appear with the Travis Scott treatment next. The Nike Air Trainer 1 is next in the lineup for Nike and American rapper Travis Scott; the sneaker emerged months after the Astroworld issue that caused various Nike x Travis Scott delays. Now we’re seeing a possible 2022 debut of the Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott “Grey Haze”, one of two Air Trainer 1 colourways.
Nike looks ready to bring back Travis Scott to the release calendar after a slight hiatus. With the Air Max 1 x Travis Scott postponed indefinitely, expect all eyes on the Nike Air Trainer 1 renditions.
The Nike Air Trainer 1 made its debut in 1987 to solve one problem: the lack of a trainer that can be worn for multiple sports. Designer Tinker Hatfield then developed a shoe that can withstand fast-paced sports; and at the same time provide comfort for gym sessions. And thus the Nike Air Trainer 1 is born and proved to be the ultimate cross-sports trainer.
The shoe boasts a padded heel, a midfoot strap, and a raised lateral outrigger for all-around support and comfort. An encased Air unit in the heel adds to the much-needed cushioning. Because of its impressive looks and performance, the Air Trainer came out in more styles and models.
The Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott “Grey Haze” incorporates a corduroy, textile, and mesh upper combo. The midfoot strap features a green “Cactus Corporation” branding which also appears below the zipper on the heel.
Subtle Swooshes on the lateral side give way to the signature reverse Swoosh on the medial section. A new “CJ” logo on the perforated tongue pertains to the Cactus Jack moniker.
A detachable ripstop mesh upper shroud boasts a unique design feature because why not? Instructions on the inside layer allow you to try out various styles.
Expect an official release in 2022 together with the “Wheat” colourway. Just like most TS x Nike trainers, these are probably going to be limited in numbers because of the hype surrounding every release.
