On-feet Photos: Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott “Grey” & “Wheat”

It’s been quite a while since we’ve last seen a new sneaker release from Travis Scott following December 2021’s controversy. The issue caused various Travis Scott brand collaborations to be postponed or delayed; one of these brands is Nike. Months later, it seems like Nike is ready to bring back La Flame to the release calendar. Now we get an on-feet look at two of the Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott colourways expected for 2022. With the Air Max 1 TS still with no release date, new emerging photos may indicate we’re getting them soon.

Let’s check out these detailed on-foot images provided by @yankeekicks.

Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott “Grey Haze” DR7515-001

Unlike the insanely hyped Air Jordan 1 Travis Scott renditions, the Nike Air Trainer 1 TS boasts a different look. Major design updates set the shoe apart from the usual Air Trainer 1, even almost utility-like. A mix of corduroy and mesh make up the upper. Perforations on the tongue add to the new design features as well. The tongue also shows what appears to be a new logo resembling the letters C and J as in “Cactus Jack”.

A removable shroud made of ripstop mesh covers the midfoot strap featuring a “Cactus Corporation” label. This label can also be found underneath the zipper on the heel.

Travis Scott’s signature reverse Swoosh returns on the medial side of the shoe.

The Nike Air Trainer 1 Travis Scott “Grey Haze” features a mix of Grey with hints of Green and Tan; highly similar to the OG Chlorophyll but with additional colours.

Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott “Wheat” DR7515-200

The “Wheat” rendition features a combination of Brown, Black, and even pinkish colours for a classic “work shoes” vibe. Just like the other colourway, mesh, corduroy, and textile complete the structure of the shoe. The rope laces accompany the midfoot strap and provide a locked-down fit. This colourway also includes the removable shroud with instructions on the inside.

While we’re still unsure of official release details, make sure to keep an eye out for announcements soon. Sources say Nike is eyeing a Spring 2022 launch, but until then, stay tuned for updates. It’s more than likely both trainers will release together.
