Nike looks ready to call up Travis Scott back in the lineup after the rapper’s temporary break in December 2021. While some of the scheduled releases took a backseat, more Travis Scott x Nike trainers continue to surface. This Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott “Wheat” joins the “Grey Haze” colourway in this upcoming Nike Air Trainer 1 Travis Scott pack. This is far from the usual Air Trainer 1 aesthetic – just the way La Flame likes it differently.
Ever since Nike and Travis Scott teamed up, the hype train just kept on rising. With TS signatures making their way to the likes of the Air Jordan 1, Air Force 1, and even the Nike SB Dunk, fans always anticipate what’s next for the two. For 2022, the Nike Air Trainer 1 gets the Cactus Jack makeover; boasting a lot of material changes and additional design features that truly set it apart from the regular version.
The Nike Air Trainer 1 originally came out in 1987 as an all-around shoe suitable for multiple sports and even gym sessions. Legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield combined various design features to make the Air Trainer 1 become a powerhouse of a shoe.
With a thick and padded ankle collar, the shoe also features a midfoot strap and a thick lateral outrigger. These features helped athletes wear the shoe for various purposes because of their effectiveness.
This Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott “Wheat” uses corduroy, mesh, and textile with perforated sections. Multiple shades of Brown make up for a signature finish.
Cactus Jack details on the strap, heel, and logo on the tongue bring TS identity in full swing. A ripstop mesh shroud adds to the rather unique design approach on this shoe.
Expect an official release in 2022 as Nike slowly brings back Travis Scott sneakers after delays and postponements.
