Maybe this will stop the curse of getting Ls on every draw. The Nike Blazer Mid 77 Jumbo “Voodoo” may not be “Halloween enough” for its lack of spooky details. But the unique mismatched construction paired with a detachable doll gives this shoe a tier of its own. We just really wish we could use this doll to join draws on behalf of our “luckluster” accounts.
The Nike Blazer is so the 70s! But that doesn’t stop Nike from reimagining the old-school basketball shoe into something much more modern. Just like the rest of Nike models from the 70s to 90s, the Nike Blazer continues to release in OG and brand new forms. When it first came out, the Nike Blazer boasted a leather upper and a rubber cupsole. In the new Blazer Mid Jumbo silhouette, the large Swoosh becomes even larger – even overlapping on the midsole.
Huge Off-White vibes are present in this new model. Virgil Abloh truly left a lasting legacy when it comes to sneaker and apparel designs.
When you compare the normal Blazer to the Blazer Jumbo, the only thing similar is the build and Nike details on the tongue. The Nike Blazer Mid Jumbo features a deconstructed upper consisting of a mesh underlay, a leather overlay, and a suede toe box. The oversized Swoosh appears in a highly similar Off-White fashion. Exposed foam on the tongue adds more vintage detail to the modern shoe.
A modified herringbone traction outsole completes the new design.
This upcoming Nike Blazer Mid 77 Jumbo “Voodoo” mimics a voodoo doll with the use of mixed fabrics. Mesh, suede, canvas, corduroy, and synthetic leather make up the mismatched colourful upper comprised of Navy Blue, Sail White, Orange, and Olive Green. Exposed stitches and buttons on the rear fulfill the theme.
A “NIKE” doll with buttons for eyes can be attached to the buttons on the rear. Whether it’s for luck, it’s still up to you to find out.
Gum rubber outsole provides consistent grip on most surfaces.
While it’s unlikely to be a “Halloween” shoe, expect a 2022 launch of this shoe.
