The ever-classic Nike Cortez features a timeless look that continues to be popular amongst sneaker fans. As the original “jogging” shoe, Nike’s Cortez model has a rich and celebrated history dating back to the 1970s. It has remained a staple amongst the sneaker community, and the “Nylon Black White” colourway and design give the shoe a modern and contemporary feel.

Nike launched the Cortez in 1972 as the brand’s first track shoe. It has a long history dating back to the late 60s when Nike founders Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman worked for Onitsuka Tiger. Following a dispute between Nike and Onitsuka, the two companies eventually released their own versions of the shoe. Nike kept the Cortez name, while Onitsuka Tiger renamed it Tiger Corsair.

The Nike Cortez celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022, and Nike commemorated the shoe by bringing modernised collabs to the shoe. Notable collabs include sacai, Union LA, and CLOT. More colourways soon followed as Nike revisits one of the most historic pairs in Swoosh history.

This particular shoe is constructed out of a nylon upper with a black base and white Swooshes and suede overlays. The outsole showcases a classic herringbone pattern, allowing for superior traction and added comfort.
