A throwback to the class of ’85. This Nike Dunk High colourway goes back to its roots with its vintage colour scheme. Double Swooshes on the sides and 85 labels on the tongue make up for one special Nike Dunk High. This Nike Dunk High SE “Phantom Stadium Green” joins the roster of Nike icons paying homage to their year of release. The likes of Air Pegasus 83 and Air Force 1 all showed up with their debut years on the tongue.
Decades since it first came out, the Nike Dunk found a new surge in popularity thanks to mainstream collabs and non-stop releases. This new colourway celebrates the Dunk’s first year with a throwback makeover headlined by the 85 labels.
The Nike Dunk joined the Air Jordan 1 back in 1985 as Peter Moore’s sneaker designs. Both pairs were made primarily for basketball. Little did we know that these two will dominate the sneaker culture decades later. They almost share the same outsole; the Air Jordan 1’s sole has more texture compared to the Dunks.
In 2002, Nike launched the Nike SB division. Together with the launch of Swoosh skate products is the Nike SB Dunk, a modified Nike Dunk perfected for skateboarders. The Nike Dunk’s reemergence will definitely stay this way for quite some time.
This Nike Dunk High SE “Phantom Stadium Green” features a Sail White leather base with Stadium Green overlays. Double Swooshes incorporate suede in Black and Green.
