With Nike’s 50th anniversary in 2022 comes a lot of celebrations. From retro re-runs of classic icons, the return of elusive silhouettes, and honouring the brand’s heritage; this Nike Dunk Low colourway celebrates the birth of the Swoosh with a 3D style edition.
The Nike Dunk Low first came out in 1985 as a basketball shoe. Designed by the late Peter Moore, the Dunk and the Air Jordan 1 went on to become popular vintage hoops trainers decades later. Much of their popularity is attributed to their simple yet appealing style.
The Air Jordan 1’s glory began in the NBA as Michael Jordan showcased his basketball prowess during his rookie season. As for the Nike Dunk? This shoe graced the collegiate hoops scene.
Nike’s Be True To Your School campaign launched various two-tone Nike Dunks in Nike-sponsored teams’ jersey colours. These were very famous as the colourways caught a lot of attention and matched whatever the players wore.
This Nike Dunk Low “Multicolour 3D Swoosh” features a Platinum Grey base with Midnight Navy colours on the Swoosh and outsole. Outlined Swooshes in Blue, Red, and Yellow appear around the Swoosh to form a 3D effect. This same effect also appears on the NIKE labels on the tongue for consistency.
Scheduled for a May 2022 release, keep an eye out for these on the Nike website!
