Following the introduction of Nike’s Tuned Air Max in 1998 was the release of the Nike TN Air Max Plus. Many sneakerheads were impressed with it’s comfort due to the revolutionary cushioning system Nike had developed. It was also released in bright colourways allowing it to stand out from the crowd.
Still going strong in the year 2021, this Nike TN Air Max Plus colourway arrives in an eco-friendly build. It boasts Nike Grind material on the upper cage’s wave pattern, replacing the typical plastic strips seen on many colourways.
Many Nike Sportswear models in 2021 have utilized the colourful speckles from Nike Grind. This pair features a black upper base decorated with pixelated graphic prints in blue, orange, and volt. This shoe is unofficially part of the Nike “Crater” pack.
Drawing inspiration from the beach life in modern cities, this Nike TN Air Max Plus is built with a black airy mesh upper. The wavy TPU fingers resemble palm trees and the ocean waves, which are strategically placed throughout the upper to add structure and support.
As well as the mesh upper with pixelated graphics, this edition also features Volt accents on the Swoosh and arch that bridge the decoupled outsole.
The toe mudguard increases the shoes durability. A foam midsole houses the visible heel, while the forefoot Tuned Air Max unit is decoupled with a TPU arch. This section is inspired by a whale’s tail and provides torsional support. Finishing off is the waffle traction outsole with hints of black and volt.
