A clean new colourway of the Nike Waffle One shows up for 2022. By sticking to the brand’s roots, this Nike Waffle One “Just Do It/ White Red” boasts Nike’s immortalised motto. No better way to motivate someone on copping a new pair of Nikes than simply saying “Just Do It”.
In just a short amount of time, the Nike Waffle One rose through the ranks of Nike’s top-selling lifestyle trainers. The double wedge heel counter highly resembled that of the Nike x sacai LDWaffle. But this time, the Waffle One opted for a more streamlined yet modern approach; a bridge between Nike’s running heritage and the experimental aesthetics of the 2020s.
Introduced in 2021, the Nike Waffle One took huge design inspiration from Nike’s early running trainers from the 70s. While the updated upper construction is a fresh new look, no one could ever forget the revolutionary waffle sole namesake. Nike co-founder invented the waffle sole by borrowing his wife’s waffle iron and putting rubber to get the mold. The result? One of the most consistent and reliable traction patterns ever.
Updated attributes on the Nike Waffle One include the multi-layered transparent mesh upper, asymmetrical tongue, and a double-wedged plastic heel clip. Because of the similarities with Nike sacai silhouettes, people started choosing the widely available Waffle One.
This Nike Waffle One “Just Do It/ White Red” arrives in a classic all-white mesh base. Beige suede overlays reinforce the toe, eyestay, and heel panel. Red Swooshes bring warm hues to the neutral upper.
A subtle “Just Do It” slogan appears on the lateral side of the rear panel for “added motivation to cop the pair”.
It’s rounded off by a white foam midsole and a black waffle outsole.
